Abondance is a straw-coloured, Alpine style cow milk cheese with a natural rind. It is lovely. A favourite for years, we've stopped making it and have just a 100 wheels left to sell. At about 6-12 months old, these remaining batches are nutty and mild, but definitely not bland. A solid cheese and a great kitchen workhorse: grated on french onion soup, added to a mac and cheese blend, or a palette cleanser on a cheeseboard.
A typical wheel is 5kg and priced at $225 ($45/kg), but we'll sell by the half-wheel too. Please note that wheel size may vary, but we will do our very best to pick one within 100g or so.
